After finding two pawpaws very late in fall last year I now know what to look for. I found these two and more in the last few days. The bright yellow-green leaves really stand out in the fall. Smelling a leaf makes the ID certain. I now have four areas where native pawpaw are growing on my property.

This one below seems an especially nice pawpaw book.
This year I planted 3 more pawpaw trees near the native ones I found last fall. Pawpaws need to be cross pollinated so hopefully putting more nearby will help them all.
After planting two pawpaw trees last spring, I ended up finding some in my woods. This is the leaf from one.
